Have you heard the following?

  • “All your labs are normal”

  • “Your only option is medication” [accutane, spironolactone, birth control, antibiotics]

  • “It’s just genetic”

  • “Diet doesn’t impact your skin”

The data says: acne is everywhere

Acne affects up to 50 million Americans annually, making it the most common skin condition in the United States(1). Even more surprising, 1 in 5 adults between 25-39 still battle this persistent skin condition, debunking the myth that acne is just a teenage problem(2). it's clear that traditional approaches aren't solving the problem(3).

This acne labs panel is for you if:

  • You're experiencing persistent acne despite “trying everything”

  • You want a second set of eyes after your docs have said “everything is normal,” but your skin isn’t acting normal

Acne Lab Panel FAQ’s

  • The Acne Lab Panels are for adults 18+. For teens, we recommend our jumpstart program + mineral test panel.

  • You can upgrade to the Acne Lab PLUS panel to include the GI MAP here.

  • The labs must be completed within 3 months of purchase.

  • Yes, this panel is eligible for payment through HSA/FSA accounts. However, please note: we cannot guarantee your card issuer will cover approve coverage. Our end is fully coded & approved, but the card issuer has the liberty and authority to decline any payment just as they would with any type of credit card. We cannot provide a medical diagnosis or letter of necessity for medical treatment. We do not accept traditional insurance.

  • If you reside in these states, please email us at robyn@nutritionbyrobyn for options.

This panel cannot be ordered if you live outside of the United States.

  • Yes. These labs also offer invaluable insights for other skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, and HS. We would encourage these lab panels for other skin concerns. In fact, we typically do order these labs for our 1-1 clients with non-acne skin concerns.

  • This test does NOT include treatment recommendations or protocols. These tests are only intended to provide test results with an explanation of what they mean. If you are looking for more support and a personalized plan after you get test results, we can support you further in our 1-1 membership. After you receive your video analysis, you’ll have 14 days to apply the cost of this panel to a 1-1 program for a personalized treatment plan & support.

  • Blood labs must be done at a lab corp: please check here to confirm you have a lab corp near that you are willing to drive to. We cannot accommodate Quest Labs.

  • We would recommend waiting to complete this panel until you’re 6 months or more postpartum. Completing this while nursing is absolutely encouraged.

  • Yes - you can complete this if on any acne medication (including accutane, spironolactone, birth control, antibiotics or any others). You’ll be sent a form to complete and ask that you note any medications you’re on so we can keep that in consideration when providing your analysis. The medications won’t “falsify” results but they can impact results. For example, accutane may show a higher vitamin A that your natural level and spironolactone may explain a really low HTMA potassium level. Again, these aren’t “false” results, it’s just how these meds impact your biochemistry & nutrient status.

  • If you had an HTMA in the last 60 days, please use code “nohtma” at checkout to remove the HTMA test.

  • Once you place your order, you’ll have kits and requisition forms arriving within 7 days. Once you ship your kits back and complete your blood draw, it takes 14-20 days for ALL labs to get back to us. If you complete your labs ASAP, the process takes about 3 weeks.

  • For the Hair Tissue Mineral Test, we’d recommend you wait 6-8 weeks before collecting your hair sample for optimal results. All lab instructions will be sent after purchase. You have up to 3 months to complete the labs. The HTMA requires about a heaping tsp of hair & the collection should be as close to the scalp as possible to get results that asses your mineral status from the last 2-3 months. Here is a sample HTMA test.

  • This panel is only available to residents in the U.S.
